Zlil – algorithmic music composer. Short tutorial

Let us begin with algorithmic composition, choose “Algorithms” → Stochastic->Random melody.

When asked for length type some number , for example 25. Type something for title, for example – Snow.

New phrase editor opens. Lets here what was the result. Select “GUI”->Show Score. New Window opens.







Select Play->Play All

You can change instrument or speed in window which opens when you select Tools->set parameters.

After you finished with that, close the window by pressing File->Close.

Here we have the Phrase editor, and can manipulate the phrase




Lets add the phrase to the new score, by choosing Phrase->Add to current score->as new part

Now lets manipulate the phrase, by clicking for example Manipulating phrase-> Reverse

Then again Phrase->Add to current score->as new part

Now let us see the score: Score->Show current Score or by clicking on button on the right

The notation window opens where you can select Play->Play All to hear music and File->Save as midi to save that to file.
